Length & Conditions of Stay in the UK

Applicants who hold a Standard Visit Visa are able to stay in the UK for up to six months. It is not possible to apply for or extend a Standard Visit Visa for longer than six months.

Applicants who need to visit the UK more regularly can apply for a multi-entry visit visa that lasts either two, five or ten years. They must be able to prove that over a long period of time there is a reason as to why they regularly need to travel to the UK. Holders of multi-entry visit visas should remain in the UK for no more than six months in any 12 month period.

Evidence needs to be shown when applying for a multi-entry visit visa that at the end of each visit the applicant will leave the UK and that the applicant’s reason for coming to the UK remains the same whilst their visa is valid.

UK Visit Visas - Getting it right first time

It is essential that an application for a Standard Visit Visa is prepared thoroughly and carefully. If the Home Office is not satisfied that an applicant will leave the UK at the end of their visit or if it considers that any of the other requirements have not been met, the application will be refused. After the first application has been refused, the Home Office needs to be seriously persuaded to change their mind and issue a visit visa. Getting it right the first time is extremely important.
The reasons for refusal are numerous but we see the same types of refusals again and again. When applicants or their family members in the UK have applied themselves, we see a tendency only to show the Home Office that everything is available by way of money and accommodation for that particular visit. The refusal will come back stating there is not enough evidence that the applicant has sufficient family, social or financial ties to their home country to allow the Home Office to be persuaded the applicant truly intends to only visit for a brief period and return home.
What is required is producing evidence at the same time as the application to persuade the Home Office the applicant is settled and comfortable in their home country, e.g through showing homeownership, employment, general financial situation, and other close family in their country with whom they have regular contact.

How we can help

We will offer you a fixed fee service and we will undertake the following work on your behalf:

We will communicate with you (or more likely your family member based in the UK) and obtain full details of the reason for the visit and the arrangements that will be in place for the visit in terms of accommodation and finances.
We will obtain full details of the circumstances in the home country of the applicant and advise documents to be obtained to show the applicant has every intention of returning (property ownership, employment, close family, educational studies etc).
We will obtain full details of the financial position of the applicant and advise documents required to persuade the Home Office the applicant is financially comfortable and is not arriving in the UK destitute.
We will advise of all information required to prepare the visit visa application online and when all documents and information is complete submit the application.
We will assist you in processing payment for the fee charged by the Home Office for the visa application.
We will arrange the booking of an appointment at a Visa Centre in the country where the applicant lives and make sure they have all the documents required for their appointment.
We will prepare all the evidence to support the application and submit this to the Home Office online or by post.
We will keep you updated in respect of the progress of the application and immediately inform you when we receive a decision.
